Tropcial Soccer is located in Miami, Florida is run by the
Westchester Optimist Club. Since 1964 the Optimist Club of Westchester has strived for a better future for our children and our community and has maintained quality youth programs in both recreational soccer and recreational baseball.
Located in Tropical Park, on the corner of Bird Road and the Palmetto Expressway, the Optimist Club of Westchester promotes, aids and encourages the development of youth; in the belief that the giving of one's self in service to others will advance the well-being of man, his community, and the world
The SOCCER program at Tropical Park continues to grow. We hope that you and your family can join us in all the fun that we have each year and enjoy soccer as much as we all do.
Tropical Soccer's recreational soccer concepts are listed below:
Everyone Plays
Our program's goal is for kids to play soccer so we mandate that every player on every team must play at least half of every game.
Balanced Teams
Each year we form new teams as evenly balanced as possible?because it is fair and more fun when teams of equal ability play.
Open Registration
Our program is open to all children between 4 and 17 years of age who want to register and play soccer. Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria for playing.
Positive Coaching
Encouragement of player effort provides for greater enjoyment by the players and ultimately leads to better-skilled and better-motivated players.
Good Sportsmanship
We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude, and our program is designed to instill good sportsmanship in every facet of soccer.
In the recreational season, each child who registers is guaranteed to play at least half of every game. To help create evenly matched games, all recreational players are placed on new or "balanced" teams each year.
These decisions are made based on each player's skill level and the overall ability of the team.
